Why did you join Tonality?

I joined Tonality to engage in a musical community that wants to make a difference in the world. I really appreciate how Tonality doesn’t shy away from difficult subjects, and aims to shine a light on issues that have been neglected for far too long and to start much needed conversations.

Why do you feel a group like this is important?

Tonality is so important because it doesn’t leave anyone behind. Tonality aims to include everyone in the conversation and makes space for everyone’s voices to be uplifted and heard.

What is a particular moment you remember from singing in a Tonality concert?

Singing “At War With Ourselves” was one of the most powerful pieces I’ve ever performed. It was such a powerful piece and I really hope that it can be performed more. It opened my eyes so much and after hearing audience feedback, it seems that they also felt the same.During “America Will Be,” I remember looking over at the ASL interpreters signing every single song with such passion and emphasis on every word. Looking up I saw a group of people who were part of the ASL community, and I felt so moved that they could experience the music with us. The ability to bring ALL people together through music was truly shown. Everyone belongs, “We Belong.”
