I joined Tonality because I believe in the messages of acceptance, love, and hope the group conveys through music. And also, because I find the representation of people of color in the professional choral world extremely important.
I feel that a group like Tonality is important because it is vital that the art we create and consume is just as diverse, socially aware, and culturally rich as we are as individuals. It is also an intersection of social activism and music that can inspire such strong emotions and inspiration to anyone who is willing to listen.
What I'm looking forward to the most this upcoming concert is getting to experience performing with an entirely new group of artists. I love getting to experience the beauty of making music with others, and every group is always different in the best way possible.
