Why did you join Tonality?

I joined Tonality because of Tonality's commitment to social justice, representation, and the community around Southern California. I believe in the mission and aims of the organization to foster empathy and community activism.

Why do you feel a group like this is important?

Tonality matters because of its ability to bring singers of all different backgrounds together for a common cause. Tonality has raised awareness about many different social issues through music in an invaluable way.

What are you looking forward to in this upcoming performance?

I'll never forget singing "At War With Ourselves" by Michael Abels with the Kronos Quartet. The various performances of this piece were some one of the most impactful experiences I've had as a singer. The music recounts the painful experiences of Black Americans and the resilience of Black Americans despite the painful history of this country in such a powerful way.
